Camporee

Camporee is a weekend campout that brings all Boy Scout and Cub Scout units in the district together in fellowship. Units compete in various games of skill and strength that utilize their Scouting skills. Ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

We also have a Dutch Oven Cook-Off, Den/Patrol Flag competition, Gateway competition (Boys), Scavenger Hunt (Cubs), and lots of other fun things in store – just you wait!

Bring your own food within your unit, or dine at our famous Snackoree!

Each unit is responsible for hosting a game for their respective unit type (Boy/Cub). Games are usually tied in with the theme.

Units camp together by type - Boy Scouts in one area, Cub Scouts in another area. Units bring all their own equipment - tents, stoves, tables, chairs, etc.

When you prepare your roster, please inform your adults that we need at least 1-2 hours of volunteer time from everyone. There are many jobs to handle, and the more hands we have, the easier it is. Please be ready to help.

Captain BBQ lunch

Captain BBQ lunch tickets will be available for purchase at the April Roundtable. Ticket reservations can be sent to Francine at conte@zis.com. As an incentive to get a good count for the BBQ, all tickets reserved and/or purchased prior to Camporee on April 20, 2012 can be had at the low cost of only $6.00 per ticket. Tickets purchased at the Snackoree booth at Camporee will be $7.00 per ticket.

Again this year the Captain will be BBQing up chicken and pulled pork. Lunch will include chicken or pork, potato salad, and BBQ beans. The potato salad and BBQ beans are made from scratch by Captain BBQ as well as his recipe for BBQ chicken and pork.

Purchase tickets for either chicken or pulled pork.

Discuss with your troop, pack, crew, and all family members attending so that they can all get in on a great lunch at a great price.

Call, e-mail, or hunt me down to get your reservations in.

Thanks,

Snackoree donations

Troops, packs, families of Scouters, and any other interested party: We need help with stocking Snackoree. All donations help us to keep the cost of food and snacks for participants as low as possible and allow for a variety of purchasing options for everyone. Any help will be greatly appreciated by your boys.

Below is the list for contributions for 2012 Snackoree. Please contact me as soon as possible so that I can know who may be contributing what and we can avoid unnecessary duplicates or overpurchasing.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
